  Thiocyanatoalcohols react with some acid alkylene glycol phosphites and thiophosphites in the presence of Et(3)N to give the corresponding hydroxyalkyl alkylene glycol thiophosphates or hydroxyalkyl dithiophosphates. The structure of the latter compounds determines their subsequent conversions.
