Temperature-driven fluorescent NOT logic is demonstrated by exploiting predissociation in a 1,3,5-trisubstituted Δ2-pyrazoline on its own and when grafted onto silica microparticles. Related Δ2-pyrazolines become proton-driven YES and NOT logic gates on the basis of fluorescentphotoinducedelectrontransfer (PET) switches. An effective strategy for synthesis of Cu nanoparticles is designed, these nanoparticles have high catalytic activity in conjugate addition of B2(pin)2 and α,β-unsaturatedketones. biocatalytic cascade approach was applied for the stereoselectivesynthesis of hydroxy ketones and the corresponding 1,3‐diols. The cross aldolcondensations of aldehydes and ketones catalyzed by Co(II) complexes of pyridine-containing copolymers proceed under neutral conditions in DMF or DMSO to afford α,β-unsaturated ketones without any byproduct. The solid complex catalysts are capable of repeated use. The reactions of aromaticaldehydes and ketones give good results but not those of aliphatic compounds. Effects of substituent
An iron‐catalyzed chemo‐ and diastereoselective reduction of α,β‐unsaturated ketones into the corresponding saturated ketones in mild reaction conditions is reported herein. DFT calculations and experimental work underline that transfer hydride reduction is a more facile process than hydrogenation, unveiling the fundamental role of the base.
