Efficient synthesis of 3,3′-bisindoles catalyzed by Fe3O4@MCM-48-OSO3H magnetic core-shell nanoparticles

Magnetite nanoparticles coated with sulfuric acid-functionalized mesoporous MCM-48 were synthesized and used as a catalyst in three-component domino reactions of indoles, arylglyoxal monohydrates and N-arylenaminones to furnish the desired 3,3'-bisindoles by formation of two C-C and one C-N bonds in a smooth cascade with good yields under mild reaction conditions.
