    Covalent, irreversible small-molecule inhibitors that modify the sulfenyl form (i.e., sulfenic acid, RSOH and sulfenamide, RSNR'2) of therapeutically important proteins (particularly kinases and phosphatases) are disclosed, where the compositions include a compound having a substituted aryl or heterocyclic core structure that promotes binding interactions with a specific protein, and a nucleophilic reaction center (carbon, nitrogen, sulfur, or phosphorous) that is capable of forming a covalent bond with a sulfenic acid- or sulfenamide-modified cysteine residue in the protein. Methods for synthesizing these compounds are also disclosed, as well as methods of using them for determining the bioactivity of a chemical composition comprising an active compound toward a specific protein and for determining the potency of an inhibitor against a specific protein.

    A polyamide acid composition for preparing a polyimide which can extend the pot life of the composition comprising a solution of a polyamide acid in an organic solvent, the polyamide acid being a precursor of the polyimide, a dehydrating agent, a catalyst and a pot life extending agent which can lower a rate of conversion of the polyamide acid to the plyimide, and the process for preparing the polyimide from said polyamide acid composition. According to the present invention the pot life can be extremely extended to give the composition an enough flowability for a long time without reducing the excellent properties such as a heat resistance and an electric insulation of the obtained polyimide.

    A polyamide acid composition for preparing a polyimide which is improved in the stability in a form of solution and can extend the pot life of the composition comprising a solution of a polyamide acid in an organic solvent, the polyamide acid being a precursor of the polyimide, and an N-substituted heterocyclic compound as a chemical treating agent which can lower a rate of conversion of the polyamide acid to the polyimide. The pot life can be extremely extended to give the composition an enough flowability for a long time without reducing the excellent properties such as a heat resistance of the obtained polyimide.

    The present invention relates to novel yellow anionic dyes, a process for their preparation, certain novel intermediates necessary for their preparation and the use of these dyes for dyeing natural or synthetic materials, in particular, paper. The dyes are of formula (14), (15) or (16) in which R 1 represents hydrogen, C 1 -C 4 alkyl, C 1 -C 4 alkoxy or SO 3 H, R 2 represents SO 3 H or CO 2 H, R 3 represents hydrogen, C 1 -C 4 alkyl, halogen, hydroxy, C 1 -C 4 alkoxy, carboxy, NH 2 or NHC 1 -C 4 alkyl, R 3a represents hydrogen or NH 2 and A 1 and A 2 , independently of the other, is selected from the group consisting of an acetoacetylated amine, a derivative of barbituric acid, a 2,4,6-triaminopyrimidine derivative, a pyridone derivative, an aminopyrazole or a pyrazolone derivative and a benzoic acid derivative, or A 1 and A 2 , each one independently of the other, represent a certain phenol residue.
