In certain embodiments osteoadsorptive fluorogenic substrates of cathepsin K (or other proteases) are provided. Utilizing a bisphosphonate targeting moiety, the fluorogenic substrates provide effective bone-targeted protease sensor(s). In certain embodiments the "probes" comprise cleavable fluorophore-quencher pair linked by a cathepsin K (or other protease) peptide substrate and tethered to a bisphosphonate. Unlike existing probes that are cleared within a few days in vivo, the probes described herein (e.g., OFS-1) allow for monitoring resorption over the course of longer time periods with a single dose.
The invention relates to an immunoassay method and kit for the detection and/or the determination of mephedrone, mephedrone metabolites and related compounds. The invention is underpinned by a novel antibody, derived from a novel immunogen, that is sensitive and binds to mephedrone, mephedrone metabolites and related compounds.
A tethered ligand comprising the reaction product of an organofunctional silica and a ligand containing a functional group capable of reaction with said organofunctional silica, wherein the organofunctional silica is prepared from an alkyl silicate and an organofunctional silane is described. A supported catalyst is also described comprising additionally a source of catalytically-active metal. Methods for preparing the tethered ligand and supported catalyst are provided and uses of the supported catalyst for performing asymmetric reactions are claimed. The catalysts are readily separable from the reaction mixtures and may be re-used if desired.
