    Two hexasaccharides, beta-D-Xyip-(1 --> 2)-alpha-D-Manp-(1 --> 3)-[beta-D-Xylp-(1 --> 42)-]alpha-D-Manp-(1--> 3)-[beta-D-GlcpA-(1 --> 2)-]alpha-D-Manp and beta-D-GlcpA-(1 --> 2)-[beta-D-Manp-(1 --> 3)-[beta-D-XylP-(1 --> 2)-]alpha-D-Manp-(1 --> 3)-]alpha-D-Manp, the repeating unit of the exopolysaccharide from Cryptococcus neoformans serovar A, were synthesized as their methyl glycosides in a regio- and stereoselective manner.
