  The use of the CURTIUS azide method for the synthesis of peptides is known to produce urea derivatives as side-products due to partial rearrangement of the azide to an isocyanate. As model compounds for this type of reaction the two urea analogues of Val5-hypertensin II mentioned in the title have been synthesised.
