Electron impact mass spectrometry of 3,3-dimethyl-3-germathietane indicates loss of ethylene with formation of germathione ions [Me2Ge=S]+. and loss of CH2S with formation of germaethene ions [Me2Ge=CH2]+. and the thermal decomposition of 3-germathietanes proceeds with elimination of alkenes and formation of germathiones.
