In an attempt to enhance the antihypertensive activity of 4-acetyl-2-(2-hydroxyethyl)-5,6-bis(4-chlorophenyl)-2H-pyridazin-3-one, 1, a series of lipophilic and hydrophilic esters was synthesized. These derivatives possessed increased lipid and aqueous solubility, respectively.
