alkynes with N-pivaloyloxy aryl amides enabled the efficient regiospecificsynthesis of difluorinated 2-alkenyl aniline derivatives (see scheme). The fluorine substituents in the alkyne substrates diverted the course of the reaction from the conventional annulation pathway to promote the hydroarylation process involving Lossen rearrangement.
report the divergent synthesis of alkynylated imidazo[1,5-a]indoles and α,α-difluoromethylene tetrasubstituted alkenes through Rh(III)-catalyzed [4 + 1] annulation/alkyne moiety migration and C–H alkenylation/DG migration, respectively. This protocol features tunable product selectivity, excellent chemo-, regio-, and stereoselectivity, broad substrate scope, moderate to high yields, good tolerance of functional

Selective regiochemical introduction of fluorines into methyl and methylene positions of (Z)-5-decenyl acetate provides analogues to probe the hydrophobicity requirements of the pheromone receptor site in the turnip moth, Agrotis segetum. Perfluorobutyl-, difluoromethylene-, trifluoromethyl-, and tetrafluoroethylene-containing analogues have been synthesized and chemically characterized.
