  The linkage isomers trans-bis[4-(2-aminoethyl)morpholine]dinitronickel (II) (brown, 1a) and trans-bis[4-(2-aminoethyl)morpholine]dinitritonickel (II) (blue-violet, 1b) have been synthesized from solution. Complex la is the major and thermodynamically controlled product, whereas, complex 1b is minor and kinetically controlled product.
