    A symmetric hyperbranched type silicone-modified polymerizable compound contains a compound represented by the following general formula (1). A hyperbranched type silicone-modified polymerizable compound has flexibility at the branched skeleton itself than the conventional ones, and reactivity of a polymerizable functional group is good and it is positionally and sterically symmetric, while it has a highly branched structure having siloxane chains.     It is an object of the present invention to provide a polycarboxylic acid copolymer which improves the water reducing capacity and workability of cement compositions and the like and making them easier to handle when the fluidity and water reducing capacity are at the same levels, a method of producing the copolymer, and a cement additive and a cement composition comprising the copolymer. The present invention is further to provide a polycarboxylic acid copolymer and a cement additive which are capable of improving the strength and durability of hardening products of cement compositions, hence can advantageously be used in ultrahigh strength concrete. The present invention is still further to provide a method of producing polycarboxylic acid copolymers having high water reducing capacity, reducing the viscosity of cement compositions and improving the workability in applying cement. The present invention is directed to a polycarboxylic acid copolymer which is obtained by copolymerization of monomer components comprising a polyalkyleneimine unsaturated monomer (A1) and an unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer (B).

    The object of the invention is to provide a means to enhance the drying property of a coating film formed as a vibration damper and repressing the occurrence of crack and expansion in the surface of the coating film. The task mentioned above is accomplished by using a thickener for vibration damper, which contains a polymer comprising an alkali-soluble monomer unit and an associating monomer unit. The alkali-soluble monomer unit may possess a carboxyl group, a sulfonic acid group, or a phosphoric acid group, or a salt thereof. The associating monomer unit may possess in a side chain thereof a group representedby the formula, -(R1-O)n-X-R2, (wherein R1 denotes methylene group, ethylene group, propylene group or butylene group, n denotes a number in the range of 10 - 300, X denotes a direct bond, -C(=O)-, or -C(=O)NH-, and R2 denotes a hydrocarbon group of 6 - 30 carbon atoms).
