An asymmetric palladium‐catalyzed intramolecular oxidative aminoarylation of alkenes has been developed with quinoline–oxazoline chiral ligands and Ag2CO3 as the oxidant. Various indolines containing a quaternary stereogenic center were synthesized in high yield with excellent enantioselectivity. Stereoselective palladium-catalyzed synthesis of structurally versatile indoline derivatives, using molecular oxygen as the sole oxidant, is described. New C-N and C-C bonds form across an alkene in an intramolecular manner. The C-N bond-forming step proceeds via a syn-amidopalladation pathway. The moderate kinetic isotope effects (intramolecular KIE = 3.56) suggest that electrophilic aromatic substitution occurs in the arylation step.

Disclosed herein is a rhodium-catalyzed oxidative C-H activation/domino annulation of N-Boc-anilines with 1,3-diynes for the construction of tricyclic N,O-heteroaromatics. This reaction features easily available substrates, mild reaction conditions, high regioselectivity, mono/diannulation selectivity, and intra/intermolecular annulation selectivity. Moreover, this synthetic protocol enables the rapid assembly of a library of blue-emitting molecules with high quantum yields, among of which two fluorophores with pure blue-emission in toluene are discovered.
