A new method for the synthesis of terminal and internal alkynes from the nickel‐catalyzed decarboxylative coupling of N‐hydroxyphthalimide esters and bromoalkynes is presented. novel catalytic enantioselective protocol generating chiral trifluoromethylated alkynes with high yields and selectivities has been established. It uses a cooperative photoredox and nickel catalysissystem, and expands the nickel-catalysed asymmetric reductive cross-coupling of organohalides from the traditional single-electron transfer to halogen-atom transfer.
