In the presence of dibutyl telluride, α-halo-ester, nitrile, and ketone were found to condense easily with aromatic aldehydes to afford α,β-unsaturatedesters, nitriles and ketones in high yields as one-pot reaction. A possible reaction machanism was proposed.
