  (EN) Herbicidal substituted hydroxybenzyl-heteroaryl compounds and derivatives thereof of formula (I) wherein Ar is a substituted or unsubstituted 5- or 6-membered heteroaryl group having 2 or 3 ring nitrogen atoms or a substituted or unsubstituted 5-membered heteroaryl group having two ring heteroatoms, one of the ring heteroatoms being nitrogen and the other being sulfur or oxygen. Herbicidal compositions containing such substituted hydroxybenzyl-heteroaryl compounds and derivatives thereof and methods of controlling undesirable vegetation employing these compounds and derivatives are also disclosed. The compounds in which XR is hydroxyl are also useful as intermediates for producing the disclosed substituted hydroxybenzyl-heteroaryl derivatives.(FR) On décrit des composés hétéroaryles herbicides à hydroxybenzyles substitués, et leurs dérivés, de formule (I) où Ar représente un groupe hétéroaryle à 5 ou 6 membres, substitué ou non, qui présente 2 ou 3 atomes d'azote d'un cycle, ou bien un groupe hétéroaryle à 5 membres, substitué ou non, doté de 2 hétéroatomes d'un cycle, dont l'un est de l'azote et l'autre du soufre ou de l'oxygène. On décrit aussi des compositions herbicides contenant ces composés hétéroaryles à hydroxybenzyles substitués et leurs dérivés et des procédés de lutte contre la végétation indésirable avec ces composés et dérivés. Ceux des composés où XR représente hydroxyle servent aussi d'intermédiaires pour produire des dérivés d'hétéroaryles à hydroxybenzyles substitués décrits.
