Substrate‐analogue studies show how the von Hippel Lindau tumor suppressor protein (pVHL) and the oxygen‐sensing hydroxylases (PHDs) achieve specificity for hydroxyprolyl/prolyl residues for the C4‐exo/endo prolyl conformations, respectively.
