  N-Methylrhynchophyllane which is derived from the alkaloids, rhynchophylline and isorhynchophylline, was stereospecifically synthesized and was isolated as two pairs of stereoisomers, thereby establishing the trans-arrangement at C6' and C7' of these alkaloids.
