  (±) - exo - 2,6,6 - Trimethyltricyclo[5.3.1.01,5]undecane - 8,10 - dione (11) has been synthesized from dimethyl 6,6 - dimethyl - 5 - oxobicyclo[2.2.2]oct - 7 - ene dicarboxylate (17). This constitutes a new synthesis of cedrol (3) since 11 has previously been converted to this compound.

  （±）-exo -2,6,6-三甲基三环[5.3.1.0 1,5 ]十一烷-8,10-二酮（11）是由二甲基6,6-二甲基-5-氧代双环[2.2.2]合成的辛基-7-烯二羧酸酯（17）。由于先前已经将11转化为该化合物，所以这构成了西多（3）的新合成。
