An interesting reaction is described wherein, with trifluoroacetic acid at lower temperature, it affords highly substituted 2-(trifluoromethyl)oxazoles.   A simple, straightforward, and efficient method for the synthesis of polysubstituted 5-aminopyrimidine-2(1H)-thiones from vinyl azides and thiourea was developed.
