  (EN) The present invention relates to a perfume base composition comprising a carrier and a benzyl-substituted cyclohexanol having formula (1), wherein the dashed line denotes an optional double bond and the benzyl group is in the 2-, 3- or 4-position of the cyclohexanol ring, with the proviso that the benzyl group is in the 4-position when a double bond is present in the cyclohexanol ring. The composition has not only a well-balanced fragrance but also excellent retentivity of fragrance.(FR) L'invention concerne une composition constituant une base de parfum, comprenant un vecteur et un cyclohexanol portant un substituant benzyle, ayant la formule (1). Dans cette formule, la ligne discontinue indique une double liaison facultative. Le groupe benzyle est en position 2, 3 ou 4 du groupe cyclohexanol, une condition à satisfaire étant que le groupe benzyle soit en position 4 quand la double liaison est présente sur le groupe cyclohexanol. La composition constitue un parfum bien équilibré et très persistant.
