The coordination polyhedron about the Ni-II atom in [Ni(SO4)(dpt)(H2O)(2)]. H2O, [dpt = N-(3-aminopropyl)1,3-propanediamine] is a distorted octahedron consisting of three N atoms of the dpt ligand coordinating meridionally, one O atom from the monodentate sulfate group and two aqua O atoms. The two six-membered chelate rings are in chair forms. Molecular packing is stabilized by an extensive network of hydrogen bonds involving the triamine N atoms, sulfate O atoms and water molecules.
