A highly diastereoselective synthesis of tertiary α-fluoro carbonyl compounds is reported in only two chemical steps from a simple alkyne through the reaction of stereodefined fully substituted silyl ketene hemiaminal derivatives with Selectfluor.

A nickel-catalyzed diastereoselective three-component coupling of optically active oxazolidinone-derived ynamides, aldehydes, and silane is described. The reaction proceeded via stereoselective formation of oxanickelacycle to give gamma-siloxyenamide derivatives in a highly diastereoselective manner.

An efficient copper-mediated method for the coupling of potassium alkynyltrifluoroborates with nitrogen nucleophiles is reported. This reaction provides the first base-free and room-temperature synthesis of ynamides and allows for an easy preparation of these useful building blocks.
