    An object is to provide a novel heterocyclic compound which can be used for a light-emitting element, as a host material of a light-emitting layer in which a light-emitting substance is dispersed. Other objects are to provide a light-emitting element having low driving voltage, a light-emitting element having high current efficiency, and a light-emitting element having a long lifetime. Provided are a light-emitting element including a compound in which a dibenzo[f,h]quinoxaline ring and a hole-transport skeleton are bonded through an arylene group, and a light-emitting device, an electronic device, and a lighting device each using this light-emitting element. The heterocyclic compound represented by General Formula (G1) below is provided.

    A dibenzo[f,h]quinoxaline derivative in which impurities are reduced and a novel method of synthesizing the dibenzo[f,h]quinoxaline derivative in which impurities are reduced are provided. In addition, a light-emitting element, a light-emitting device, an electronic appliance, or a lighting device with high emission efficiency and high reliability in which the dibenzo[f,h]quinoxaline derivative is used as an EL material is provided. In the synthesis method, a 2-(chloroaryl)dibenzo[f,h]quinoxaline derivative is used as a synthetic intermediate in a synthetic pathway so that an impurity contained in a final product can be removed easily by purification by sublimation.

    An object is to provide an organometallic complex that can emit red light. Another object is to provide an organometallic complex having high emission efficiency. Still another object is to provide an organometallic complex that can emit red light with high luminous efficiency. The present invention provides an organometallic complex having a structure represented by the following general formula (G1′). In the formula, Ar represents an aryl group having 6 to 25 carbon atoms; R 1 represents any one of hydrogen, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and an alkoxy group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R 2 to R 8 each represent any one of hydrogen, an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an alkoxy group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and a halogen group; at least one of pairs R 3 and R 4 , R 4 and R 5 , and R 5 and R 6 may be bound to each other to form a ring; and M represents a central metal of Group 9 elements and Group 10 elements.
