  Asymmetric induction is observed in the additioin of chlorine to alkenes as well as in the synthesis of 0-acetyl cyanohydrins under phase-transfer conditions using (−)-benzylcinchonidinium chloride and (−)-N-dodecyl-N-methylephedrinium bromide as chiral catalysts.
