trans-2-(N-benzyl)amino-1-cyclohexanol by hydrogenation and subsequent derivatization give access to a broad variety of diversely substituted derivatives. Furthermore, the corresponding cis isomers are readilyavailable. Applications of these optically active aminocyclohexanols in catalyzed asymmetric phenyl transfer reactions to benzaldehydes and transfer hydrogenations of aryl ketones lead to products with
New C2-symmetric tetrafluorobenzobarreleneligands were prepared and applied successfully to the rhodium-catalyzedasymmetric addition of arylboronic acids to aromatic aldehydes giving chiral diarylmethanols in high yield with high enantioselectivity.

The catalytic enantioselective arylation of several aldehydes using boronic acids as the source of transferable aryl groups is described; the reaction is found to proceed in excellent yields and high enantioselectivities (up to 97% ee) in the presence of a chiral amino alcohol.

Asymmetric hydrophosphination is the most atomically economical and straightforward approach to the construction of chiral organophosphorus compounds. Good stereoselectivities have been achieved in asymmetric hydrophosphination of an electron-deficient C═C double bond, but substrates involving nonpolar C═C bonds remain difficult and are rarely tackled. Herein, we report asymmetric hydrophosphination

A new series of aminoalcohols with a chiral cyclopropane backbone have been developed and used in the catalytic asymmetric diethylzinc addition and phenyl transfer to various types of aldehydes. These cyclopropane-based chiral aminoalcohols show high enantioselectivity in the addition of organozincs to aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes.
