  [EN] A method for producing ferrocene and other organometallic compounds of cyclopentadien is disclosed. Dry iron chloride (or other selected metal salt) is added to a solution of cyclopentadien, diethylamine, a Group 1A metal and a crown ether in a cooled flask under a dry nitrogen atmosphere. The solution is mixed vigorously for a few hours and any excess diethylamine is evaporated. Ferrocene (or other organometallic compound of cyclopentadien) is extracted from the residue using petroleum ether, and any solvent is removed.
  [FR] L'invention concerne un procédé de fabrication de ferrocène et d'autres composés organométalliques de cyclopentadiène. Du chlorure de fer sec (ou un autre sel métallique choisi) est ajouté à une solution de cyclopentadiène, de diéthylamine, d'un métal du groupe 1A et d'un éther couronne dans un flacon refroidi sous une atmosphère sèche d'azote.
