  摘要：

  The syntheses of 4 different fused imidazoles bearing a 2,5-dimethoxyphenyl group or a pyridyl group are reported. All the heterocycles, except 2a, display positive inotropic activity. Some are approximately equipotent with sulmazole, and the imidazo[2,1-b]benzothiazole that bears a 4-pyridyl group is the most active of whole series.
