The chemical synthesis of cytidine-5'-alkyl- and cytidine-5'-alkyl (acyl)deoxyglycerophosphonophosphates is reported. The compounds obtained represent a novel class of cytostatically active agents based on phospholipids, which inhibit the growth of various tumor cell lines in vitro.
