  Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft neue 2,2-Dimethyl-3-(2- halogen-vinyl)-cyclopropancarbonsäureester der Formel (I) in welcher R, R1, R2, R3, Hal die in der Beschreibung angegebene Bedeutung haben. Man erhält sie, wenn man 2,2-Dimethyl-3-(2-halogen-vinyl)-cyclopropancarbonsäuren der Formel (II), oder reaktionsfähige Derivate derselben mit Alkoholen der Formel (III), oder mit reaktionsfähigen Derivaten derselben, gegebenenfalls in Gegenwart von Säureakzeptoren, gegebenenfalls in Gegenwart von Katalysatoren und gegebenenfalls in Gegenwart von Verdünnungsmitteln umsetzt. Die neuen 2,2-Dimethyl-3-(2-halogen-vinyl)-cyclopropan- carbonsäureester zeichnen sich durch hohe pestizide, insbesondere insektizide und akarizide Wirkung, und eine niedrige Fischtoxizität aus.

  Pesticidally active 2,2-dimethyl-3-(2-halogeno-vinyl)-cyclopropanecarboxylic acid esters of the formula ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 are identical or different and represent alkyl or halogenoalkyl, R.sup.3 represents alkyl or the grouping --(CH.sub.2)--.sub.n R.sup.4, in which n represent 0 or 1 and R.sup.4 represents halogenoalkyl, optionally substituted aryl or the grouping --XR.sup.5, in which X represents oxygen or sulphur and R.sup.5 represents alkyl, halogenoalkyl, optionally substituted aryl or optionally substituted aralkyl, Hal represents fluorine, chlorine or bromine and R represents an alcohol radical which can be used in the case of pyrethroids.
