Reaction of a number of arylstyrylketones with polyphosphoric acid has been investigated and, with the exception of 9-anthryl styrylketone, each undergoes smooth cyclisation to give an isomeric 5-membered ring ketone. The polyphosphoric acid- and aluminium chloride-catalysed cyclisations of 1-naphthyl styrylketone, which give 3-phenyl-2,3-dihydrobenz(e)inden-1-one and phenalen-1-one respectively
The invention provides specific small molecule compounds that allosterically regulate the activity or modulate protein-protein interactions of AGC protein kinases and the Aurora family of protein kinases, methods for their production, pharmaceutical compositions comprising same, and their use for preparing medicaments for the treatment and prevention of diseases related to abnormal activities of AGC protein kinases or of protein kinases of the Aurora family.
Synthesis and thermal decomposition of 3-aroyl-4-aryl-2-pyrazolines

3-Aroyl-4-aryl-2-pyrazolines (21-40) have been synthesized by the reaction of alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones (1-20) with diazomethane. These 2-pyrazolines gave beta-methyl-alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones (41-46) on thermal denitrogenation.
