Five anthocyanins, cyaniclin 3-O-(2-O-beta-xylopyranosyl-6-O-(Z)-p-coumatoyl)-beta-galactopyranoside (2), cyaniclin 3-O-(2-O-beta-xylopyranosyl-6-O-(E)-p-coumaroyl)-beta-galactopyronoside (3), cyanidin 3-O-(2-O-beta-xylopyranosyl-6-O-(E)-caffeoyl)-beta-galactopyranoside (4), cyanidin 3-O-(2-O-beta-xylopyranosyl-6-Oacetyl)- P-galactopyra nos ide (5), and cyanidin 3-O-(2-O-beta-xylopyranosyl-6-O-acetyl)-beta-glucopyranoside (6), together with the known cyaniclin 3-O-(2-O-beta-xylopyranosyl)-beta-galactopyranoside (1), were isolated from red flowers of Camellia cultivar 'Dalicha' (Camellia reticulata) by chromatography using open columns. Their structures were subsequently determined on the basis of spectroscopic analyses, i.e., H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, HMQC, HMBC, HR ESI-MS and UV-vis. (c) 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
