Abstract An efficient Baeyer–Villiger rearrangement of cyclobutanone derivatives was investigated. One-pot synthesis of keto-δ-lactone from the Baeyer–Villiger rearrangement products was developed. Meanwhile, the synthetic useful γ-lactone and butenolide derivatives could be easily prepared. GRAPHICAL ABSTRACT
