dimers (±)-ampelospin F and permethylated (±)-e-viniferin were synthesized by a practical synthetic route with overall yields of 10% and 27% . This route involves triethylsilane-mediated reduction of the 2,3-diarylbenzofuran,, and BBr 3 -mediated one-pot demethylation and cascade intramolecular cyclization reaction.
