  ropyran iodide are elaborated from D-glucose each in practicable procedures of 5 and 10 steps, resp., and subsequently joined to give, after oxidation, deprotection and acetylation, (−)-anamarine (ent-). The synthesis proves the absolute configuration of natural (+)-anamarine ().
