    Disclosed is a refrigerator oil composition comprising at least one base oil selected from mineral oils and synthetic oils, and at least one hydroxy-fatty acid derivative selected from (A) hydroxy-fatty acids or their condensates, (B) metal salts or amine salts of hydroxy-fatty acids or their condensates, and (C) esters of hydroxy-fatty acids. The composition has an excellent lubricating property, while specifically improving the lubricity between aluminium materials and steel materials. This is effective for preventing such materials from being seized and worn, and is suitable as a lubricating oil in refrigerators using hydrogen-containing Flon refrigerants, such as R134a, that do not cause environmental pollution.

    An object of the present invention is to provide a material from which a golf ball having excellent resilience and durability can be obtained. The present invention provides a golf ball resin composition containing: (A) at least one member selected from the group consisting of a polyamide, an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer, a partially saponified product of an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, and a polyvinyl alcohol, (B) at least one resin component selected from the group consisting of (b-1) a binary copolymer composed of an olefin and an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, (b-2) a metal ion-neutralized product of a binary copolymer composed of an olefin and an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbon atoms, (b-3) a ternary copolymer composed of an olefin, an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbon atoms and an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester, and (b-4) a metal ion-neutralized product of a ternary copolymer composed of an olefin, an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 8 carbon atoms and an α,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid ester, and (C) a fatty acid metal salt having 18 or less carbon atoms.

    The invention concerns the preparation of azlactone-derivatized polyamides which are obtained by reacting polyamides with a solution containing an azabicyclo compound and a vinyl azalactone derivative of formula (I), in which R 1 , R 2 and R 3 , independently of one another, designate H or CH 3 ; and R 4 and R 5 , independently of each other, designate H or C 1 to C 5 alkyl. These azlactone-derivatized polyamides can be used to bond amino-group-containing compounds to a matrix. Examples of these polyamides include affinity carriers and immobilized enzymes. 1

    A flowable nondigestible oil composition having a Consistency in a temperature range of 20° C. to 40° C. of less than about 600 P.sec (n−1) . The flowable nondigestible oil contains a liquid polyol polyester having a complete melt point less than 37° C., and a solid polyol polyester having a complete melt point of at least about 37° C., wherein the solid polyol polyester contains a solid saturated polyol polyester capable of forming crystallized spherulites. The flowable nondigestible oil is made by a process which includes the steps of melting completely the nondigestible oil, reducing the temperature of the melted nondigestible oil to a first crystallization temperature less than the onset crystallization temperature of the solid saturated polyol polyester, holding the nondigestible oil at the first crystallization temperature for a time sufficient to crystallize a portion of the solid saturated polyol polyester into crystallized spherulites, further reducing the temperature to an ambient crystallization temperature, and holding the polyol polyester composition for a time sufficient to crystallize the remaining portion of the solid polyol fatty acid polyester. The process is accompanied by shearing of the composition during the crystallization of the remaining portion of the solid polyol fatty acid polyester. The process is generally completed within 5 hours, usually within about 2 hours.
