both aliphatic and aromatic aldehydes proceeds with air-stable (hetero)arylboronic acids, with an exceptionally wide substrate scope. The neutral condition tolerates acidic hydrogen and sensitive polar groups and also preserves α-stereocenters of some chiral aldehydes. Interestingly, this nickel(0) catalysis does not follow common 1,2-insertion of arylmetal species to aldehydes and β-hydrogen elimination

2‐Methylphenyl ketones undergo site‐selective acylation at the benzylic position when treated with acid anhydride under UV irradiation in the presence of a palladium catalyst. The benzoyl carbonyl group serves as the photo‐directinggroup so that the ortho benzylicC−H bond is activated site‐selectively.
Herein reported is a dehydrative allylation reaction of 2-alkylbenzophenones with allylic alcohols promoted by light and palladium. Photoirradiation of 2-alkylbenzophenones generates nucleophilic s...
“Greener” Friedel−Crafts Acylations: A Metal- and Halogen-Free Methodology
作者:Mark C. Wilkinson
DOI:10.1021/ol200482s
日期:2011.5.6
The utility of methanesulfonic anhydride for promoting the Friedel−Crafts acylation reaction of aryl and alkyl carboxylic acids is disclosed. This reagent allows the preparation of aryl ketones in good yield with minimal waste containing no metallic or halogenated components, clearly differentiating it from other available methodologies.
