Design, synthesis and evaluation of heterocyclic 2-phenylacetate derivatives as water-soluble rapid recovery hypnotics

In this work, a series of novel heterocyclic 2-phenylacetate derivatives were designed and synthesized as water-soluble and rapid recovery hypnotic agents. After introducing heterocyclic ring to the amide group of propanidid, the obtained propanidid derivatives showed greatly improved hydrophilicity and good anesthetic activity.
