  Compounds of formula (I) or enantiomers, diastereomers and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, for use as a medicament, in particular as inhibitors of sirtuins, with particular reference to SIRT6; such compounds increase glucose tissue uptake and find employment in the treatment of type I and type II diabetes mellitus and complications thereof; they reduce the production of TNF-alpha and other inflammatory, chemotactic, or proangiogenic cytokines, finding use in the treatment of inflammatory diseases; they interfere with DNA repair in tumor cells and then exert an anticancer effect and sensitize such cells to antineoplastic agents and radiotherapy, hence finding employment in the treatment of neoplastic diseases.
