  通过部分催化还原相应的硝基芴，合成了三种与致癌物N-芴-2-基乙酰氧肟酸同分异构的新芴基异羟肟酸，而相应的硝基芴又是用过氧马来酸氧化相应的芴胺而制得的。探索了一种通过Semmler-Wolff重排将3,4-二氢芴-1（2 H）-肟肟化的方法，制得N（[[ 14 C]芴-1-基）乙酰胺和-乙酰氧肟酸的途径。。通过TLC对产物的分析表明，当在有限量的乙酸酐存在下重排该肟时，亚胺为中间体。
