Metal-Free Catalyzed Synthesis of Fluorescent Indolizine Derivatives

A mild and high efficient method to prepare indolizines by two-component reaction with the acid as the catalyst was developed. In this reaction, a new ring efficiently formed in one-step reaction. Selective Tail-to-Tail Dimerization of Ethyl Acrylate Catalyzed by Dirhodium Complexes
A catalytic selective tail-to-tail dimerization of ethyl acrylate was achieved by using dinuclear rhodium complexes, [(RhCp*)2(μ-CH2)2(CH3CN)2](BF4)2(Cp*=C5Me5) (1a) and [(RhCp*)2(μ-CH2)2(CO)2](BF4)2 (2). The corresponding dimethyl complex, [(RhCp*)2(μ-CH2)2(CH3)2] (3), showed catalytic ability only in the presence of HBF4·OEt2.
