  alpha,alpha'-Bis(trifluoromethyl)-9,10-anthracenedimethanol was prepared by a one pot stereoselective doable reduction in good yield and excellent enantiomeric excess. We examined the association with ortho- and meta-benzenedimethanol showing bidentate complexes stable enough to be studied by low temperature NMR.
