Some 1-arylmethylimidazoles bearing a naphthyl group at the a position of benzyl moiety have been synthesized and tested as antifungal agents against Candida albicans and Candida spp. Such derivatives resemble bifonazole and naftifine, two important antimycotic agents of clinical use. Various compounds were found highly active when tested against Candida strains in comparison with bifonazole, miconazole, clotrimazole and ketoconazole.

(EN) Coding of items of mail is achieved to good effect irrespective of the moisture content of the mail and/or ambient relative humidity by applying to at least one part of the surface a composition comprising both phosphorescence activation means and fluorescence activation means such that exposure of the surface to ultraviolet light will lead to an emission of detectable phosphorescence to an extent which will depend upon the amount of moisture at the surface. Fluorescence will be activated irrespective of moisture content. Preferably red phosphorescence and red fluorescence are manifested.(FR) Selon la présente invention, on effectue le codage d'objets postaux de façon à parvenir au meilleur effet quel que soit le degré hygrométrique desdits objets postaux et/ou l'humidité relative ambiante. Le procédé utilisé consiste à appliquer sur au moins une partie de la surface de l'objet une composition contenant à la fois un agent d'activation de la phosphorescence et un agent d'activation de la fluorescence de telle sorte que l'exposition de ladite surface à un rayonnement ultraviolet provoque l'émission d'une phosphorescence décelable jusqu'à un degré qui est fonction du degré hygrométrique au niveau de ladite surface. La fluorescence est activée quel que soit le degré hygrométrique. De préférence, les agents activateurs utilisés engendrent une phosphorescence rouge et une fluorescence rouge.
