Highly stereoselective access to β-glycosyl esters was disclosed, employing 1-hydroxybenzotriazole (HOBt) mediated esterification of glycosyl hemiacetals in the presence of EDCI and 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane (DABCO).
