Oligoribonucleotide conjugates carrying apolar carbohydrates at the 5′-end and the corresponding siRNA duplexes have been prepared using phosphoramidite chemistry. All the carbohydrate-siRNA derivatives were compatible with RNA interference machinery if transfected with oligofectamine.
