The Ugi four-component condensation between 5-oxo-3-thiacarboxylic acids, benzylamines and cyclohexyl isocyanide gave 5-oxothiomorpholine-3-carboxamides. An oxa-[2,3] sigmatropicrearrangement involving arynes is reported featuring the umpolung of ketones, where the C═O bond polarity is reversed.
