Synthesis, photophysical, electrochemical and DNA binding properties of a novel ruthenium(II) N^N complex

A novel mononuclear ruthenium(II) N^N complex of the type [Ru(bpy)2(N^N)](PF6)2 where bpy = 2,2’-bipyridine and N^N = N-(2pyridylmethylene)-2-anthramine) has been synthesized and characterized. Its electronic absorption, luminescence and electrochemical properties were investigated and discussed in details.
