Design, synthesis and evaluation of advanced rigid-rod Ï-stack photosystems with asymmetric scaffolds are reported. The influence of pushâpull rods on self-organization, photoinduced charge separation and photosynthetic activity is investigated and turns out to be surprisingly small overall.
