Some new Schiff bases were synthesized by the condensation between 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde and various diamines in 2:1 molar ratio. These pure products were prepared in methanol solution under mild reaction conditions to afford good to high yields. The structures of the products have been characterized by several techniques using elemental analysis (CHN), FT-IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and mass spectra.
