Dioxomolybdenum(VI) thionates were readily isolated from the reactions of MoO2Cl2 with thallium salts of representative thiones [2-mercaptopyridine (Py-SH), 2-mercaptopyrimidine (Pym-SH), 2-mercapto-4-methylpyrimidine (MePym-SH), 2-mercaptobenzothiazol (BzTz-SH), 2-mercaptobenzoxazol (BzOx-SH) and 2-mercaptonicotinic acid methyl ester (MeNic-SH)].
